Revenge-Porn

There's been quite a few stories now in Australia and abroad of former partners (usually male) posting nude pictures of their ex-girlfriends or wives on the internet. This is obviously done with the intent of damaging the target's honour.

While I think that the act is abhorrent and deserves scorn, I also think about the utter stupidity of the female who agrees to have any sort of photo they would EVER be embarrassed about taken in the first place!

Phones are lost, accounts are hacked, hard drives can be discovered in tips and data recovered from them. If the photo has been taken and it is not in your possession or absolute control then it is for all purposes public.

I can only think that the initial photos being taken are poorly thought out but then one sees that the phenomenon of "sexting" where women of all ages are only too keen to add to the volumes of amateur pornography flooding the internet.

My advice to all women is to never have a photo taken of yourself that you would be embarrassed about. Seems like common sense but that's become a bit of a rarity nowadays. That deals with the heart of the revenge-porn "problem".
